The current world is rapidly changing and digital literacy has become a base for a fruitful career. However, the majority of the students in India don’t have proper knowledge of what tools they should use to enhance their learning and land their dream job.

A study by Nielsen which is focused on the measurement of audience showcases that about 60% of the rural population in India is still not utilising the internet due to the absence of digital literacy.

Further research shows that there are key factors such as the absence of proper infrastructure to deliver digital lessons and the lack of a continuous supply of electricity. However, the key reason behind the issue that has been reported is the incapability of understanding digital terminologies and devices.

So what’s the solution to the issue?

Tabith Rotich, a journalist from Nairobi Country, Kenya writes that the education sector of Kenya has leveraged AI for the enhancement of the learning experiences. The Ministry of the Nation has made use of several steps for the formation of CBC or Competency Based Curriculum. Thereby, delivering ICT or Information and Communication Technology to the learners.

This shows that rigorous application of AI and its associated systems can be quite helpful for rural sites of India in the improvement of digital literacy.

These are the three basic AI tools that can help students in India establish a successful career.

Canva

Canva was created with the aim and purpose of easy and simple approaches to graphic design. Over the years, the tool has gained a lot of popularity for its simple design. However, the ground-breaking feature of Canva lies in the fact that the tool offers a variety of templates for the users, better visuals, and access to thousands of options to make a graphic straight from scratch.

Recently, Canva has introduced the “Magic Write™” feature which helps in improving pieces of writing. The feature lets you summarise, rewrite, make it funnier, more formal and so on.

I have been using the tool to restructure messages to my audience for Medium blogs especially. Magic Write™ has helped me define and amplify my thoughts in a highly clear manner. I highly recommend the feature to students in India which can have an immense impact on their academic performance.

Grammarly

You must have already heard about Grammarly and the advantages it offers. The term “Grammarly” is a self-explanatory one. A person easily understands that Grammarly is some kind of application that helps us in writing with proper grammar. However, there are several underpinned features which are associated with Grammarly.

Grammarly offers several features such as double clicking on a word to discover its synonyms and the tone of the text which will be conveyed to the readers such as formal, funny, optimistic and so on.

Grammarly has launched a new feature called “Grammarly GO” which is quite similar to “Magic Write” of Canva. The snippet below showcases the live functioning of the feature.

Learners can utilise the feature in restructuring their sentences, keeping them short or to the point and maintaining tone as per the audience.

Duolingo

A study has showcased that around 22% of youths (20 to 24 years) in India are bilingual while only a tiny percentage number 5% are trilingual in the rural areas of the nation.

Duolingo is a key solution to the issue. Duolingo as the name suggests is an application which has made learning a new language extremely easy for individuals.

The application aids one in learning more than 40 different languages. A study by Duolingo itself showcases that the five major languages which Indians are learning on the platform include Hindi, French, English, Spanish and Korean.

Hindi, French, English, Spanish and Korean are the top five languages being learnt by Indians on Duolingo

Conclusion

In conclusion, it can be said that harnessing digital tools, particularly AI, can improve or enrich the experiences of students. Rural Indian students need to be offered exposure to AI which can boost their overall academic performance and ultimately land their dream career.
